professional information for the annual TMAC Handbook, both the
print and online versions
c) in the case of media members,
ascertain that they meet the standards set by the association to
qualify for membership and that they continue to meet those
standards every second year when they must submit their
requalification packages
We do not ask for members’ date or
place of birth, passport or driver’s license information.
The data collected for a) and b) is
available to any TMAC member and may be used by members for any
purpose consistent with the goals of the association. This material
is also archived by TMAC’s administrator.
Members have access to their
information collected for a) and b) online at the TMAC website (www.travelmedia.ca).
On receipt by TMAC’s administrator, changes or corrections to that
information will be made to its database and the TMAC website. The
updated information will also appear in the next TMAC Handbook.
The data collected for c) is seen only
by the staff of TMAC’s administrator and the TMAC members appointed
by the national board to review applications and media
requalification packages. They are not permitted to use the
information submitted by media members for personal or professional
gain and will have their TMAC membership rescinded if they are found
by the board to have done so.
The contents of the media application
package are kept on file at the office of TMAC’s adminsitrator until
the member’s first requalification package is received, at which
time it is destroyed. The contents of the requalification package
are kept on file at the offices of TMAC’s administrator until the
member’s next requalification package is received, at which time the
previous package is destroyed. These files are only available to the

requalification committees. The files are destroyed when a
membership lapses or is revoked by the board, or when a member
