Autumn is an amazing time to visit the Grey Bruce region with the foliage at its peak, vibrant reds & gold's set amongst the rock of the Niagara Escarpment, regional cuisine on the menu at our local restaurants, the orchards bursting with juicy apples, artists opening their studio doors to showcase their works. We invite you to come and see for yourselves September 23-25, 2014. Below is a copy of our itinerary for our exciting new Fall FAM. Start in the iconic Blue Mountain Village and make your way up to the tip of the Bruce, Tobermory. Along the way sample local hard apple cider and wine, watch the tenacious salmon make their journey upstream to spawn, take in the stunning Niagara escarpment at sunset from a cruise boat and take a tour of the night sky in the Bruce Peninsula National Park. Day One - Tuesday, September 23rd

11-1:30pm Tour of the Village at Blue Mountain  
Enjoy a ride on the mountain gondola, to hike the tops of Blue Mountain, to a lookout that overlooks the Village.  Coast your way down the mountain on Blue Mountain's only roller coaster and zip through the air on their newest triple zip.  This tour will be inclusive of lunch and check in.

2:20pm Orchard Tour and Sampling at Beaver Valley Cidery, Beaver Valley
Tour the cidery, learn the processes involved in making hard apple cider and then sample some of the product.

4pm Glass Bead Blowing with Beaver Valley Glassworks, Clarksburg
Make some glass beads and tour the gallery of Beaver Valley Glassworks and tour the artist town of Clarksburg.

6pm Dinner at Oliver & Bonaccini's at the Westin Resort, Blue Mountain
While dining on locally infused dishes learn about the popular 'Apple Pie Trail' and its many adventures, plus enjoy a dessert made from local apples.

8:30pm Slumber at Blue Mountain Resort 
Unwind and rest for your next day of discoveries in the luxury of Blue Mountain Resort.

 

Day Two - Wednesday, September 24th

8:15am Breakfast at The Pottery at the Blue Mountain Inn
Wake up with some fresh coffee and get yourself charged for your second day of touring fall activities in Grey & Bruce.

9AM - Thornbury Fish Ladder - Thornbury Dam
Watch as the Salmon make their way upstream at the Fish Ladder in Thornbury

9:45am Apple Picking and Candy Apple Making at Farmer's Pantry, Clarksburg
Tour the orchards at Farmer's Pantry, Pick a few apples and then choose the biggest one to make a candy apple with.

11am Coffin Ridge Winery Tour and Sampling, Annan
Learn about the unique name behind this exquisite boutique winery, take a vineyard tour and sample some of the grape/wine varieties.

12:30pm Owen Sound Salmon Tour and Lunch at Harrison Park Inn
Indulge on lunch in a restaurant that is located in the heart of a City park in Owen Sound and walk some of the Salmon Tour Trail with Owen Sound Tourism.

3:55pm Afternoon Boat Cruise w Bruce Anchor
Take a bout tour through Fathom Five National Marine Park (one of only two in Canada) to see islands, shipwrecks and the famous Flowerpots.

6pm Dinner at Ancient Cedars
This unique restaurant strives to provide guests with season, local offerings so fall is an excellent time to visit! Beef, honey, maple syrup, eggs, poultry, pork, lamb and sausages are all sourced locally in addition to as much produce as they can get their hands on. Enjoy!

 7pm Tour of the night sky at Singing Sands
Take a hike through the forest and shoreline trail guided by expert Parks Canada staff. Tonight is "dark of the moon" which is an ideal night for star gazing.

Day Three - Thursday, September 25th

Rise and Shine for Breakfast at 9am at Craigies.
This breakfast spot is an institution in Tobermory. 

10am Adventure Activity! Your choice:
Snorkeling tour of local shipwrecks with the Divers Den OR test your climbing skills at Little Cove Adventures' high ropes course.

1pm Lunch and the Fish and Chip Place
Locally known for their excellent TFTs. (Tobermory fish tacos!)

2:30pm Lindsay Tract MTB Park for local art!
Create yourself a beautiful piece of art to take home with you to remember your trip to Grey Bruce. This mountain bike park is also home to a Ducks Unlimited viewing tower along one if it's many multiuse trails.

4pm Depart for your trip back to Toronto.
